WordPress built past what plugins can hold
Plugins cover the common case and leave the rest to a workaround nobody wants to maintain. We build the custom development and headless front ends that take a WordPress site past what plugins can hold, and run the security hardening and maintenance behind it. Maintena, our own WordPress monitoring product, samples eleven signals continuously and rolls six into a single health score, with CVE matches against installed plugin and theme versions among them.

When is the perfect time for WordPress?
A workflow no plugin covers
The business process needs logic no combination of plugins replicates, and the current workaround means someone reconciling data by hand outside the site.
A site that's slowed down
Page load times have crept up as plugins and content accumulated over the years, and nobody's certain which one is responsible.
A security incident or a near miss
A plugin vulnerability got exploited, or came close, and "keep everything updated" turned out not to be a security strategy on its own.
Content needs to reach more than the website
The same content needs to appear in an app, a kiosk or a partner's site, and WordPress's templates were only ever built for a browser.
A new site or rebuild is starting
A new WordPress build is being scoped, and decisions made now about theme, hosting and structure will be expensive to reverse in two years.
Maintenance has been ad hoc
Updates, backups and monitoring happen whenever someone remembers, and the site has gone stretches with nobody checking which plugin versions are even installed.

How We Approach WordPress
Your Path to Operational Success
Our Experts align your business goals with user needs to achieve better results.
Audit the current site
We review the plugin stack, custom code, hosting and security posture to see what's actually running on the site, separate from what's assumed to be running.
Scope the custom work
Requirements a plugin can't satisfy get scoped as custom development or a headless front end, with the simpler plugin-based option ruled in or out honestly first.
Build and harden
Custom code, integrations and security hardening get built and tested against a staging copy of the site before any of it reaches production.
Launch and hand over
The site goes live with documentation covering what was built and how, so future updates to it don't depend on us being available.
Business Outcome
- A site that does what your workflow needs, not just what a plugin allows.
- Fewer security incidents, because hardening doesn't stop at "plugins updated."
- Page load times that reflect what's actually slow, not a guess.
- Content that reaches an app or a partner site as easily as the website.
- A maintenance routine that catches a problem before a customer reports it.

FAQS
Common questions about WordPress.
Ask that question before we do. A lot of WordPress requirements really are solved by the right plugin combination, and we'll say so — building something custom when a plugin already does the job well doesn't help either of us. Custom work earns its cost when nothing off-the-shelf covers the requirement.
It depends on how far you take it, and we cover that trade-off in full on our headless page. On a WordPress site specifically, the short version: it's worth it when the front end needs something no theme can produce, and a real added cost — not a free upgrade — when the site is mostly pages and posts.
It's necessary, not sufficient. Updates close known vulnerabilities after they're published. Hardening covers the gap before that — permission audits, firewall rules, login protection and file integrity checks that catch what an update schedule alone misses.
More often than agencies admit. A content site, a small business brochure site, or a store with standard products usually doesn't need custom development at all — a well-chosen theme and plugin stack, properly configured and maintained, is the right answer here, rather than a custom build looking for a reason to exist.
Both. It started as internal tooling for our own WordPress estate, and running it against our own sites is part of what taught us where plugin-based hardening actually falls short. We bring the same monitoring approach to client sites we maintain.
